Position Summary: The Development Organiser – Nutrition supports community-based nutrition programs by coordinating activities that promote healthy eating, food security, and improved nutritional outcomes. This role involves working closely with local stakeholders to implement nutrition awareness campaigns, monitor program effectiveness, and ensure alignment with health and development goals.
Skills :
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse rural/tribal communities.
Good communication skills (local language proficiency is essential).
Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, data entry, documentation)
Freshers also can apply related field of Nutrition.
Desirable:
2–3 years of experience in community mobilization, institution building, or livelihood promotion.
Prior work experience with SHGs, Cooperatives, Producer Groups, or other community institutions.
Familiarity with participatory tools (PRA, social mapping, focus group discussions, vision planning).
Good facilitation, training, and leadership development skills.
Strong documentation, report writing, and case story development skills in English/local language.
Experience in coordinating with government departments and local governance systems (Panchayati Raj Institutions, line departments).
Ability to handle field data collection, MIS, and basic monitoring & evaluation tools.
Willingness to travel and stay in rural/tribal areas as per project needs.
Preferred Attributes:
Master’s degree in social work, Rural Management, or allied field.
Experience in working with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Cooperatives, or Farmer Producer Organizations.
Skills in participatory tools (PRA, FGDs, Social Mapping, etc.).
Documentation and report writing skills in English/local language.
Ability to facilitate training and capacity building sessions.
Exposure to working with government programs and schemes.
Passionate, self-motivated, and willing to travel extensively in rural/tribal areas.
Must have own vehicle.
Job Profile
Community Engagement & Awareness
Conduct nutrition awareness sessions in rural communities, especially targeting women and children.
Promote healthy dietary practices and hygiene through campaigns, workshops, and home visits.
Program Implementation
Support the rollout of nutrition-specific interventions such as kitchen gardens, dietary diversity initiatives, and anemia control programs.
Facilitate linkages with government schemes like ICDS, Poshan Abhiyaan, and health departments.
Capacity Building
Train and support community health workers(Aarogya Sakhi), SHG members, and local volunteers on nutrition-related topics.
Develop IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials tailored to local needs.
Monitoring & Evaluation
Collect and maintain data on nutritional indicators, program reach, and impact.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and ensure quality implementation.
Collaboration & Reporting
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., health departments, GO/NGOs).
Prepare reports, case studies, and documentation for internal review and donor reporting.
Sustainability & Innovation
Encourage sustainable practices like organic farming and local food sourcing to improve nutrition.
Innovate community-led models for long-term nutrition improvement.
Experience and in-depth understanding of the rural governance institutions and processes. Experience of working with Panchayats and government line departments is a must for this position.
In depth understanding of women’s self-help groups, micro-finance, and women empowerment related aspects.
In depth understanding of monitoring, evaluations, and reporting functions particularly in development sector programmes
Basic understanding of community health programs particularly focused on nutrition
Good training skills
Good communications skills including writing skills
Willingness to travel in remote areas
