Skills & Competencies required
The Development Organizer (WASH) will support the implementation of drinking water and sanitation programs at the village level. Working under the guidance of the District Coordinator, this role focuses on community mobilization, training coordination, and facilitating the smooth operation and maintenance of water schemes. The position involves building strong relationships with local institutions and ensuring that water services are inclusive, sustainable, and well-managed.
Experience in drinking water projects and working with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
Experience working directly with rural communities, Ward level committees or Self-Help Groups (SHGs) is highly preferred.
Knowledge: Good understanding of Piped Water Supply operation, water quality issues, and Panchayati Raj institutions, P.H.E.D department.
Communication: Excellent coordination and training skills; fluency in Hindi and local language.
Ethics: High ethical standards and transparency in community dealings.
Technical: Proficiency in MS Office and basic data management.
Willingness to Travel: Ready to travel extensively to rural project locations in Purnia.
Position Summary:
Required Knowledge & Skills
Community Institutions: Basic understanding of village-level institutions and governance and the Panchayati Raj system.
WASH Focus: Familiarity with rural water supply schemes, water quality concepts, grey water management structures and basic hygiene practices.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in Hindi and local dialects to facilitate Jal Choupal and village meetings.
Data Entry: Basic proficiency in MS Office for maintaining field records and MIS data.

Job Profile
Lead community awareness campaigns regarding safe drinking water, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
Organize and facilitate community meetings, including Jal Choupal sessions, WIMC meetings to discuss water management.
Encourage the participation of women and marginalized groups in all water committees and decision-making bodies.
Assist District Coordinator in the ground-level execution of Project.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress of project activities and ensure they follow established timelines.
Help identify risks or implementation gaps in the field and suggest practical solutions to the District Coordinator.
Provide continuous support and mentorship to Ward Implementation and Management Committees (WIMC).
Coordinate training sessions and exposure visits for community members on the operation and maintenance of water schemes.
Educate, Inform and aware the community on government guidelines and policies related to water supply operation and maintenance, water quality and rural governance.
Maintain detailed records of field activities report, attendance at meetings, and project progress.
Prepare monthly reports, case studies, and success stories that highlight the impact of WASH initiatives.
Support the update of MIS data to ensure accurate tracking of project targets.
